Quiz conduction in India: blend of knowledge and entertainment

“What is the full form of LTTE?”  The question may be surprising to many but the answer is easy- Liberation Tigers of the Tamil Eelam. And if you are asked, “What is the full form of NASA?”  You may stammer a bit. But here also a champion of quiz is ready to answer. “National Aeronautics and Space Administration”.

Yes, basically this is the place where lies the magical charm of quizzing. Quiz does not encourage you to be a pundit of any specific field of knowledge. Instead it will ask you to possess a bird’s eye view on almost everything –right from the prehistoric era to the nuclear physics.

The history of Quiz conduction in India has a history of almost four decades. At the very outset, the practice was limited to the upper middle class section of society. But with the passage of time, especially in the nineties, the popularity of quiz conduction reached the momentum. The credit chiefly goes to the quiz masters. They are basically the mastermind of any quiz show. From selecting the perfect questionnaire to the presentation- everything has to be planned very carefully and meticulously.

If you make a catalogue of the most successful quizmasters in India, the name Gautam bose quizmaster is just glittering in it. He is the man who has blended quiz with the flavor of entertainment.  With him, now quiz has not any event of mere dry questionnaire. So many attractive events have been added with it. Among them you may find events like buzzer round where the participants are asked to press the buzzer whenever the right answer comes to the mind.

Quizmasters in India are constantly trying to update themselves and they are also trying to add newer events in the quiz show. In this way, the quiz shows are being more and more interesting.
